A bad bride's tale

Thirty-four-year-old graphic designer Stevie Jonson is all set to marry Jez, her long-term boyfriend and not-quite-the-man-of-her dreams. The week before the wedding she begins to have second thoughts, and fantasizes about running off to New York City. But Stevie is desperate to start a family, and Jez, despite all his faults, really does love her, so she quells any doubts she may have and decides to go through with it. Soon after the wedding, her path collides with Katy Norris, a narcissistic goddess-type with a perfect body, perfect job, perfect nose, even, and a not-so-perfect younger boyfriend who refuses to commit. Then there is Sam, her childhood crush who's suddenly single and paying an awful lot of attention to her. As Stevie lurches further into a life that should have never happened, she's forced to make some tough decisions about ageing, compromise, and soul mates. A story about marrying and mating, and how love doesn't have a timetable.
