Dorothy, a Polish high school student, meets and falls in love with Ahmed, a Muslim. They get married and move to his home town in Libya. After Ahmed disappears for entire days at a time, becomes pathologically jealous, and starts to beat her, Dorothy finally realizes that her husband is a threat to herself and her daughters.
