About This Book

A (too) quick study in small town crime where Dalton, with three convictions, is released on a bail bond to become the chauffeur for the wealthy Fannings only to be accused of the murder of very equivocal, very elusive Mrs. Fanning. The local bail fund comes under attack, Dalton is the easy victim, and nobody wins. Even Mrs. Borgenicht's regular readership may be disappointed that she has been less interested in developing her story of evil doing than in her ironic message of doing good.
