PREMARC upgrade procedures

Manual prepared by Kay D. Guiles, of the then Office for Descriptive Cataloging Policy, for use by staff in the MARC Editorial Division. Provides guidelines for upgrading computerized catalog records retrospectively input from Library of Congress catalog cards under a conversion process the results of which came to be known as PREMARC. Contains information about the various kinds of cards found in Library of Congress general card catalogs.
