This book is the thesis submitted by late Dr. S.R. Krishnamurthi (1915-1969) to Annamalai University for the award of the PH.D degree. Dr. Krishnamurthi was a senior officer in the Indian Postal Service and the thesis was prepared while he was still in service. The book/thesis would certainly be available in the archives of Annamala University.
