About This Book

This part of the Armenians, which became part of the Hungarian upper class, was open to the new ideas of liberalism and the need of a bourgeois transformation, because these third and fourth generation descendants to the Transylvanian Armenian craftsmen-merchant families could still remember their origins. This was why they could relate to the liberal wing of the Hungarian nobility, which started the "Reform Era" and later led the revolution and War of Independence.
