About This Book

Karl Schenker was one of the most famous society portraitists in the 1910s and 20s. Actresses, dancers and celebrated ladies of society all came to have their portraits done in his studio on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, between times in New York and later in London. As a photographer, draftsman, painter and, for a time, mannequin designer, Schenker's work was focused especially on the production of portraits of women and fashion photography. Exhibition: Museum Ludwig, Köln, Germany (10.09.2016-08.01.2017).
