How does the idea of artistic research change the praxis and theory of art? This volume deals with this fundamental question from the perspective of different disciplines (from artistic practice via art history and art education through to philosophical aesthetics), and shows that the institutional establishment of the concept of research in art changes the practice of art as well as its concept in theory. The articles contribute to a critical reflection on these changes.
