About This Book

A study on the life and times of the Dominican dictator Trujillo's son Ramfis (Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Martínez (1929-1969)). The book is organized in the form of a very detailed historical chronology. It is believed that Dominican modern history began with the transition of power to Ramfis on May 31, 1961 after his father'sassassination. During his 5 months in power the Dominican people began to demand their democratic rights, something which was unthinkable under the dictatorship. Orlando Inoa is a prominent historian and professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. He has published Los cocolos en la sociedad dominicana (2005), Biografía de Juan Pablo Duarte (2008), Azúcar: árabes y cocolos (1999), Historia dominicana (2013), Bibliografía de Juan Pablo Duarte (2014), and Trabajadores inmigrantes en República Dominicana (2018), among others.
