About This Book

This book "is an anthology of the Berlage Institute's work during the academic year 1992-1993. This document is a presentation of the studio work together with a partial record of other events, lectures, discussions and interviews that have made up the Institute's educational environment. As an international postgraduate educational institution, the Berlage Institute seeks to combine design practice with theoretical discourse. To this end, it intersperses tri-mester long design projects with short, intense 'master classes' led by visiting international architects and teachers of stature and devoted to design and critical analysis.
