About This Book

The story is of a Robin, Avina, who hatches in the fall--not the best time of year to be raising a robin. Avina's mother, Mariah, searches high and low to find food for her daughter, but alas, food has grown scarce. What to do? But then Mariah hears of a place where chickens are raised, where food abounds. Mariah decides to fly to this place, even though she must leave her daughter for the day, because it is their only hope. But even though it was a good plan, Mariah is injured and unable to return. Now Avina must face the coming winter alone and she hasn't even flown yet.
