Life and Labor in Ancient Mexico

The purpose of this book is to show how and why the Indians [Native Americans] disappeared in such numbers from the Mexican scene in the midle of the Sixteenth Century at the rate of two to four percent per annum. It serves as a warning of imposing a foreign culture onto the native culture.
