About This Book

Bekker does a wonderful job highlighting the major surface and U-boat actions and, the somewhat lesser known actions of the German Kriegsmarine in WWII. As a intellegence officer in WWII, Bekker has a unique perspective on certain personalities in the Third Reich that affected naval policy and operations. His style is both easy to read and informative without being dry. In addition, as in his earlier work, Bekker summarizes salient points at the end of each chapter. This is nice for those who are not really familar with the chronology of events. This is a great read and a worthy additon to anybody interested in WWII naval history.
