Derry and the Irish poor law act

Londonderry Poor Law Union lies partly in Londonderry and partly in Donegal, covering an area of 139,199 acres. Its divisions include the city and suburbs of Londonderry, the Upper and Lower Liberties of Londonderry, Waterside, Lough Enogh, Muff, Tamnaherin, Glendermot, Ardmore, Bond's Glen, Claudy, Ballymullins, Banagher, in County Londonderry; Three Trees, Birdstown, Fahan, Inch Island, Burt, Newtown Cunningham, Castle Forward and Killea in County Donegal. The workhouse was located in the city of Londonderry.
