About This Book

This descriptive-correlational study was undertaken to determione the reading readiness skills among the Grade 1 pupils of President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School-North who had undergone the 8-week Early Childhood Education (ECE) Curriculum as influenced by their section, sex, preschool training, TV exposure, monthly family income, parents' education and availability of reading materials at home for school year 2009-2010. The participants of the study were the 158 randomly selected Grade 1 pupils enrolled at President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School for the year 2009-2010. The stratified proportional random sampling procedure was used in determining the number of participants per section. The study found that on the whole, the pupils have "high" level of reading radiness skills and when classified across all categories of the variables included in the study.
