About This Book

Mystic Runes of Ra'ak is a 3:00 work for young band at the grade 1.5 level. Program notes are as follows: Buried deep in the TIH'EK valley for almost a thousand years, were the runes of an ancient people known as the RA'AK. These runes were of mythological importance as they showed in great detail much of the tribal life that occurred. The opening section (Mysterioso) is a description of explorers sifting through the dense jungle valley in search of a lost civilization. They make their discovery and find that music/dancing was a large part of tribal life both as a ritual and as a means to celebrate. While celebrating their find, the explorers determine that it would be wrong to disturb the site and thus retreat similarly (Mysterioso) back out of the valley leaving behind the Mystic Runes of Ra'ak.
