This book is devoted to the history of the House of Academicians in Saint Petersburg. It tells the story of its origin, strong ties to the Academy of Science, and its rôle in the development of national science and culture, the city and the country. Includes memoirs of contemporaries of I.P. Pavlov and the museum created in his aprtment. It also tells about scientists and cultural figures whose fates were connected with this place. Part of the project, "The Preserved Culture."
