About This Book
The Alaska ShoreZone Mapping Protocol was used to classify the shoreline in terms of biota, morphology, and substrate. The shoreline was subdivided into alongshore units and across-shore components for 1381 km. of shoreline on the outer (i.e. southern) coast of the Kenai Peninsula. Data can be displayed on maps through GIS, and is intented for uses such as oil spill response, delineation of fish habitat, recreational planning, and protected area planning.
