Analyzes two prominent features of "city of eternal spring" that serves as weekend resort for nearby capital city's wealthy: exclusive and enclosed upper-income residential districts, and deep and inhabitable gullies that slash city into urban "islands." Identifies spaces, communities and social groups that benefit and are harmed by these patterns, exploring relationship between urban morphology and use of urban land.
