On November 21, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI met with more than 250 artists at the Sistine chapel in the Vatican City. The present book offers, for the first time, a brief and deep analysis of the pastoral implications of that meeting in the historical context of the contemporary Church. Of particular value is the appendix, including ten text documents of the Magisterium of the Church about art and artists (1947−2009).
