Later, in 1781, these lines were joined by another 34-line interpolation (see Bib# 4102821/Fr# 293 in this collection), which the scholar poet Ugo Foscolo then showed had been copied in the fourteenth century from Petrarch’s ‘Africa’ (see Bib# 678192/Fr# 277.1).
