Folk Rice varieties of West Bengal

This is the first documentation of over 20 morphological and agronomic characteristics of over 250 folk varieties of rice from West Bengal. The book also includes valuable information about the locations of origin, climatic adaptations and cultural uses of each rice landrace. The document is copyrighted in the name of Vrihi, a consortium of farmers and scientists, in an attempt to protect the intellectual property rights of indigenous rice farmers of India from corporate bio-piracy.
