The catalogue documents the period of introduction and development of graphic techniques in Brazil throughout the 19th century, since the first printing initiatives of the colonial period, the official implantation of the press in 1808, the production of the first Portuguese-Brazilian engravers and some graphic techniques developed during the Empire. The catalogue also features publications such as books, periodicals and catalogues that used engraving for the reproduction of works of art.
