About This Book
2020:40 by Alejandra Hernández (Bogotá, 1989) is a book that compiles 40 portraits made through video calls during the strict confinement of 2020. Each drawing is the result of an agreed encounter with the person portrayed, where time and screen function as interfaces so that these exchanges took place in the intimacy of the inhabited spaces, along with plants, books, personal objects, textiles and animals that coexist with those portrayed. With the intention of approaching the other mediated by virtual scenarios, the meetings were simultaneously translated by means of the colored pencil on paper.
