"This book focuses on the detailed analysis of three maps corresponding to the town of Zinacantepec (State of Mexico) that belong to the pictorial maps or with pictographic elements, whose name, according to the AGN are the following: a). Cinacantepec; Ixtlahuaca (1579): AGN, MPI, 1610 está asociado al expediente AGN, Tierras 2682, exp. 10. b). Cinacantepec: Ixtlahuaca (1619): AGN, MPI, 1611; vinculado al expediente AGN, Tierras 2682, exp. 11. c). Cinacantepeque (1590): AGN, MPI, 2107; que acompaña al expediente AGN, Tierras 2773, exp. 8. The three (maps) were done on the occasion of two requests from mercedes (entrustment) so perhaps we are talking about a particular subgroup within the maps of colonial era against others of the geographical relations. The documents analyzed were created between the late 16th century and early 17th century because the viceroys wanted to collect the maximum of information before granting a land grant"--
