"Ernesto M. Rancaño.Vieites (Havana 1968), a consummate painter, considered one of the most influential visual artist in Cuba, presets part of his most recent work comprising fundamentally installations, photos and intervened objects. After mastering painting and drawing, Rancaño moved onto photography, installation and new media art. His most recent exhibitions have consisted of mainly three dimensional works, with a large emphasis on light-box art. The thorns, hooks, bistouries, claws, all the cutting objects obsessively warped into the central subjects of the pieces show us an agitation of the mind that can only be described as the idea of a silent echo.
