John Bunyan on the order of salvation

In this study Pieter de Vries analyzes the order of salvation in John Bunyan's (1628-1688) theology and the repercussions from his prominent Puritan viewpoint. The order of salvation describes the various facets that emerge in the application of redemption and defines their mutual relationships. In The Pilgrim's Progress the order of salvation is vividly expressed by the use of metaphoric language.

Similarities between Augustine's Confessions and Bunyan's autobiography Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners are also examined.
