About This Book

A historical novel concerning the investigation of a murder set in Santa Rosa de Lima (now Melchor Muaquiz), Coahuila, Mexico in the mid 1700s. The characters in the novel are real persons who lived at the time of the murder. The interaction of the characters and the story line are taken from historical documents of Santa Rosa. The setting, characters and their interaction are vividly portayed by the author. The outcome of the investigation is in doubt until the last minute; a la O'Henry. If you are looking for your Spanish roots (Garza, de la Garza, Ecay Musquiz, Falcon, Alderete, etc) in northern Mexico I also highly recommend this book. I found my great (G), G, G, G, G, grandfather, Vicente de Alderete, in this novel. The documents that he authored with respect to the investigation allowed me to trace him back to Valladolid, Spain in 1708. I have 2 other books by Sr. Landois and I am currently looking to buy others.
