"The title of this trilogy of plays expresses the impact that events in Nicaragua have had on the younger postwar generation. In 'Oscura raíz del grito,' a young woman struggles when presented with the opportunity to seek revenge on the man who raped her. 'Destino manifiesto,' set in 1855, dramatizes the collaboration between the Church and Nicaraguan upper classes with the US forces led by William Walker.
