Blighted inheritance

Following her father's murder, Leonora Mayfield disguises herself as a maidservant in order to seek proof of a large amount of money owed by her father's employer, Sir Francis Carrock. She is determined to dislike and distrust her father's successor, Adam Rigton, but her search proves more difficult than expected and she is reluctantly becoming attracted to Adam. Is there more than a debt at stake and has she unknowingly placed herself and younger brother, Robert, in grave danger?
