About This Book
This book was published in the '50's and it was written by a school master called George Arthurson, then a teacher at Rossall School, Fleetwood, Lancashire. It contained short plays in French for reading in class and for enacting as puppet plays. The plays were shortened, dramatised versions of works of French literature, as such some of the Daudet 'Lettres de Mon Moulin' and other simple, manageable texts of the kind.
Mr Arthurson was a classical kind of school master - a man of integrity, austere in manner, the master of his subject, kind heartened (this was not generally recognized by his pupils!) but never sentimental.
