About This Book
Dag Nordbrenden, born in 1971 in Oslo, invents his own stories anew and leaves the serial work behind. Now, a poetic structure, which concentrates on individual marks, dominates his photography. Nordbrenden takes the viewer on a lyrical journey distinguished by melancholy, rigour, intimacy and long, lingering, and intensive glances. Displaying notes from a long journey through the inner life, personal experience and emotions, Nordbrenden's photography resembles a storyboard. The possibilities and the knowledge of a 'real' photographer, who governs his devices, help him in his approach. Revealing excellent technical skills, Nordbrenden shows little interest in demonstrating them. Instead, it is the cultural project that constitutes the focus of his work - along with the stories he wants to tell and involve us in. Exhibition: Centrum för fotografi, Stockholm, Sweden (3.5.-27.5.2012).
