The sources of antisemitism in history are attributed to Judaism's rejection of Jesus as the Messiah. Hypothesizes that the enigma of anti-Jewish feeling can be solved by comprehension of Christianity as a narcissistic religion. Blames Christianity for maintenance of an endemic antisemitic culture, which varied in intensity in response to political, social, and religious upheavals. The Shoah was the culmination of 2,000 years of disdain for the Jew in religious instruction. Utilizes psychoanalytic theory to illustrate how persons like Hitler are prone to become antisemitic, based on a duality of the narcissistic vs. non-narcissistic personality. Presents examples of this duality, such as the material vs. spiritual, to explain the coexistence of Christ in human vs. divine form. This paradox led Christians to declare Jews as symbols of evil, and unredeemable because of their rejection of baptism. Concludes that Christian narcissism is what led to an apocalypse, the Shoah.
