A systematic and rigorous research on contemporary textile art in the highlands of Chiapas, particularly in two communities: the tsotsiles and the tzeltales, heirs of a ancient Mayan art expressed in artistic designs created essentially by women using the Pre-Hispanic technique of the back-strap weaving known as the "telar de cintura".
