Letters to a Lover

"Ofa Hayes left the big city of Berkeley, CA, to go to her first job. She was a small town high school art teacher. She left her friend Michael Chepourkoff back at the University where he was working on his Master's degree in art. There were no personal telephones in the 1930's, so she wrote letters to him almost every day. She talked about her fellow teachers, housemates, the school principal, and her students. It was the time of the Great Depression of the 1930's. Money was tight and times were hard.
