About This Book
This work is one of a series of studies carried out by Unesco since 1975, pursuant to resolutions adopted by its General Conference, concerning the effects of the activities of transnational corporations in its fields of competence. Two meetings of experts have been held on the subject. The first, held at Unesco Headquarters in 1976, had as its theme 'The Impactof Transnational Corporations on Development and International Relations within the Fields of Competence of Unesco'. The purpose of the second meeting, held at Helsinki (Findland) in 1978, was to evaluate and orient Unesco studies concerning the influence of the activities of transnational corporations in the Organization's fields of competence.
