About This Book

Eva Hood belonged to a large race of women, southern country preachers' wives, who served and waited and held their tongues (or should have). She lived in Virginia, West Virginia and later in North Carolina, bustling around the kitchen in her long, white apron, making biscuits, pies, and jam. She was a storyteller of high humor, drama, and timing and loved to tell tales of her home country, the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her allegiance to the Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church formed her adult life and choices.
