About This Book
A survey of the Rio Grande Valley and its adjacent drainage basin south of Elephant Butte Reservoir was made by the Soil Conservation Service in 1940 and 1941. This survey made more information available to farmers and ranchers on how to make the best and most productive use of their soils. This publication contains the results of the survey, including the classification of the land according to its capability for use, and tables and discussions of the many practices needed for safe and productive use of the different kinds of land.
