[Tibetan autobiographical texts from the Johan van Manen Collection at Leiden University]

Autobiographical writings of four Tibetan and one Sino-Tibetan scribes, who assisted the Dutch scholar Johan van Manen (1877-1943) in India; these texts were written at the behest of van Manen starting in 1916 and cover life in Lhasa and elsewhere in Tibet, as well as life among Christian missionaries in Darjeeling and Calcutta, India, etc.
