Faraway sister

Faraway Sister is a story told by Violet, a little girl entering Kindergarten who learns a foreign exchange student will be living with her family for a year. Violet, her little sister Catalina and Sammy the foreign exchange student build a bond of friendship as they share meals, finish chores, ride bikes, and play on swings. The girls learn that friendship is not limited by language, culture, race, age or geography. The watercolor illustrations depict these moments of friendship in vivid color. This is a true story written by the host mom and illustrated by her foreign exchange daughter as a way to reflect on a wonderful year.
