The reflection of the Dreyfus affair in the European press, 1897-1899

By using the Dreyfus Affair as an example, this study examines dynamics of the European press at the turn of the century and seeks to establish the intellectual climate of the times. Based on the newspapers of France, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia, and Italy, it traces the conflict in each country and shows their interrelations.
