Land in Utah

Divided into two parts, this publication reports on research undertaken on land status information to be used in the planning and management of the public lands in Utah. Part I has three objectives: (1) to outline the procedures used in developing accurate information as to the ownership and availability status of lands in Utah; (2) to make generally available preliminary summary information pertaining to the 'school section' grants authorized in the Territorial Act and the State Enabling Act; and (3) to indicated the status information that has been collected and summarized in usable form by the Bureau of Economic and Business Research. Part II is intended to provide a 'pocket guide' to the records describing the lands of Utah; both Federal and state.
