Amato Lusitano

Maximiano de Lemos (Maximiano Augusto de Oliveira Lemos Júnior (1860-1923)) was a portuguese Professor of the Oporto Medical School, one of the most important researcher and author of History of Medicine, (http://museumaximianolemos.med.up.pt/index.php?src=page13.html) and this book is one of the best biographies of Joao Rodrigues de Castelo Branco, (Amatus Lusitanus) a distinguished portuguese physician of the XVI century. The Museum of History of Medicine of the Oporto Medical School (http://museumaximianolemos.med.up.pt/index.php) was named after Maximiano de Lemos.
