Love, Liberation, and Marriage examines from a feminist viewpoint the lives of dozens of couples - from the past as well as the present; those long married and those newly married; well-known people with little-known marriages and unknown people - all of whom have found liberation in marriage and whose marriages demonstrate that equality is the essential ingredient for loving, committed relationship. The book then looks at the new and creative arrangements and adjustments contemporary couples are making to enable both to have rich lives, to enable both to grow and to contribute to the world of work or of social initiative, and to enable both to participate in the nurturing of children and the survival tasks of a home.
