About This Book
This catalogue documents an exhibition of 111 Chinese underglazed porcelain snuff bottles, primarily in cobalt blue and white, but with a number in cobalt blue, copper red and white, and two with overglaze iron red in addition to the previous underglaze colours. 110 are the property of Joseph Baruch Silver of Jerusalem, Israel; 1 is loaned from the collection of Mr. J.L.J. & Mrs. A. Levine of the UK.
The earliest bottle dates from ca. 1690, while the latest dates from ca.1900, but most are from the period 1780-1850.
