"This document summarizes the research goals and strategy of intensive data recovery performed by the University of Washington Office of Public Archaeology at the Chief Joseph Dam Project in north-central Washington state, 1978-1985. ... Background information on the environment, Native American inhabitants and previous archaeological work in the area is provided in three separate chapters.
