A collective writings of nine well-known Polish writers based on an experimental film called "Last day of summer" directed by Tadeusz Konwicki in 1958. Two lost and lonely people treat their meeting at a deserted beach as their last hope, but the burden of their recent war experiences and personal dramas is an obstacle in finding their way towards each other.
