Summary of Bristol Bay sockeye salmon harvests by gear type, 2007-2009

The purpose of this report is to provide the Alaska Board of Fisheries with background information regarding the fishing effort and sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) harvest by gear type for the Bristol Bay Area. Data in this report were obtained from previous reports to the Board in 2003 (Weiland 2003), 2006 (Salomone 2006), from the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, and from the commercial fisheries fish ticket database. Information in this report is considered final for all years through 2008. The 2009 data are preliminary. For a more complete historical perspective, data from 1965 to 2009 are included.
