About This Book
After seven attempts Mike became the first of a very select group of Ultra Distance runners to run from Edale in Derbyshire all the way to Kirk Yetholm in Northumberland having taken just over 69 hours to run the entire Pennine Way Long distance Trail.
The distance an incredible 270miles.
A popular challenge walk known as the Tan-Cat which starts from the doorway of the Tan Hill Inn at 1730ft above sealevel the heighest inn in Enland located in Swaledale on the County durham,North Yorkshire Moors all the way to the second heighest inn The Cat and Fiddle just above Buxton in Derbyshire.
A mere 120 miles of arduous moorland and wild hiils in just a little over 16hrs.
The famous Alfred Wainwright Coast to Coast walk starting in the Lake district going through the North Yorkshire Moors and eventually finishing at Robinhoods Bay in an incredible 46hrs.
It takes the fit person atleast a week to travel the 186miles.
Unless you are into running fairly seriously this book is not for you but fairly recently i drove all the way from Newcastle to Maccelsfield in a single journey and its a terribly long way,but Kirk Yetholm was still over fifty miles further North so alittle under 69 hours to run the distance is quite incredible.
