About This Book
The book that interests was written by my mother Antonella Pisa (the name of my father) Antonella Tocco, her family name and her friend Anna Chines. Are actually two small booklets, hand-sewn refined in a container of opposite sections. with the cover and the cardboard container decorated with drawings of Lucio Pezza. Each page is a recipe topped by design that recalls the recipe. Recipes "of putiri fari" are of nowadays, the ones "d un putiri fari" were sought from the authors and almost all becomes from the Sicilian nobility and Monsù - the chef in Sicily. Each recipe is commented by the authors. A little anecdote for the book: one of monsù believed that the 'old Princess hold him still with him because he was the depositary of the recipe of fish soup and not quite to his old allegiance. Another about "matrina" the meaning of which was unveiled with great embarrassment by a chef of a restaurant in Palermo to my father: reads the glossary: "female genital organ of the cow" : "Cucina di putiri fari - Cucina d'un putiri fari" was a book written for fun by the authors, published in 1000 numbered copies signed by the authors, by the publisher of Palermo SE Flaccovio . He sent almost all the copies to the store in New York that sells - or selled- Italian books-and all copies were sold immediately-it was Christmas. My mother still has the original drawings by Lucio Pezza. I am the owner of the copy 186. They did'nt expected so great success and they did'nt ask copies for their self. So even the Princess did'nt get a copy with the sorry of my mother.
